explicit techniques
Not all emotions are "implicit." Consumers can and do tell you about their feelings and how they are affecting their behavior. To reveal emotions that consumers are are aware of and willing to share, we utilize what can be considered more traditional techniques -- like direct questioning, online and telephone surveys that include emotional batteries of items, and emotional expression observation. In fact, explicit techniques often reveal how initial implicit emotions are processed to influence one's ultimate behavior. (Humans can be very complex!)
