psychodrama
More powerful than traditional focus groups, psychodrama involves re-enacting relevant consumer situations that, because behavior and emotions are neurologically connected, automatically and surprisingly brings driving emotions to the surface. Re-enacting means having respondents "act out" times in their lives when they made important consumer decisions. The scenes, people, objects, and other parts of the environment are set up in the room so that the context better triggers emotional memories. All of this is directed by an experienced psychodramatist. (We recommend not trying this at home! It's not as easy as it might sound.)
